This comes up pretty often when folks start talking about why they don't want to become a Stamp CollectorWhile it's absolutely true that getting involved in the NFA community can be a very expensive hobby one thing that seems to be misunderstood about the costs is that the $200 tax fee is actually only paid once on each item you buy. It's not a licensing fee its simply a registration fee.
