Welcome to Stamp Collectors Anonymous

The premiere home for the National Fireams Act community on the world wide web

Our mission is to educate the public and dispell the myths and misconceptions surrounding the legal ownership of federally regulated items such as silencers, machine guns, sawed off shotguns, and rifles with barrels shorter than the minimum 16" barrel length. These items are Federally regulated and, although completely legal in most states, the processes involved in owning them are convoluted, misunderstood and flat out confusing.

As a tiny niche subset of the larger American gun culture Stamp Collectors are very often overlooked or dismissed as insignificant or just downright "weird". Nobody needs a silencer unless you're an assassin right? Wrong. Silencers are earplugs for your gun. Hearing damage is cumulative, meaning it builds on itself over time, and it never comes back. Every single shot you fire without hearing protection is one shot closer to you going stone cold deaf. With a silencer (yes a silencer.......suppressor is the politically correct term used so we don't scare the Fudds) you can safely enjoy the shooting sports and hunt more effectively without eliminating your ability to hear what's going on around you. You can teach your children to shoot promoting firearm safety by speaking in normal voices rather than shouting over earmuffs.

SBRs and SBSs (Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns) may have less obvious advantages but are in fact no more dangerous than their longer barreled cousins so the regulation of those firearms simply makes no sense. Under federal law a rifle can't have a barrel shorter than 16" and a shotgun can't have a barrel shorter than 18" but why? The SCA is here to help clear up the mystery.
